Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. In a familiar and discerning atmosphere, the III Apostolate Council of Antillas Delegation took place on March 11 and 12 at the Claret Retreat House in Santo Domingo. The Prefect of the Apostolate, Fr. Demuel Tavárez Rosa, convened the representatives of the Delegation’s Youth & Vocation Ministry, Laity and Missionary Volunteers, Promicla, Formation Houses, Lay Claretians, parishes, retreat houses and schools with the purpose of rereading, discerning and projecting together the Apostolic Missionary Project of the Delegation.
During the meeting, the participants had the opportunity to share their common experience, their lights and shadows, the challenges in the missionary service that they handle. An open forum followed which not only allowed them to know more and better the experiences of the Missionary Laity and Claretian Volunteers, the biblical animation project “The Path of the Word” and of the shared mission, but also to express concerns and proposals that tend to strengthen them. And lastly, the Missionary-Apostolic Project of the Delegation was re-read from the reality where they are located, establishing proposals for the next Assembly of the Delegation.
These days of sharing as a family prompted them to live this great commitment and opportunity to continue re-impelling the missionary tasks in the Delegation. In summary, this contributed greatly to:
- To value the Missionary-Apostolic Project, as a current and effective instrument to respond to the Antillean missionary reality. To make it a reality every day, in the internalization, application, review and follow-up.
- Continue to appreciate the apostolic dynamism that, in the different missionary positions, is germinating dedication, missionary zeal and hope.
- Offer lights and proposals in view of the next Ordinary Assembly.
