Ibadan, Nigeria. From 26 February to 03 March 2019, the Major Superiors and Mission Coordinators of ACLA held its annual meeting in Lagos, Nigeria hosted by the Independent Delegation of West Nigeria. Despite the election tensions, the Claretian confreres from West Nigeria were very welcoming. The letter from Father General, the Prefect of Spirituality, and Fr. Rohan Dominic, CMF of SOMI spiced the great moments of discussion and meditation they had during the meeting.
Amidst other points, they discerned together greater collaboration in formation; working together for the protection of minors and vulnerable persons; TICLA; and social issues of JPIC especially on building peace and reconciliation – an essential theme of the African Synod. They also visited the TICLA site in Abuja and had a full-day working session there on February 28. Furthermore, they visited two formation houses and had time to dialogue with the students – the Postulate in Ibefun and the Theologate in Ibadan. They made the students understand that they are the future of the Church. The activities culminated with the Major Superiors and Mission Coordinators taking part in the Final Profession of Claretians at the Claret Theologate in Ibadan.
The prepared Message to the Congregation of ACLA is available on the Noticeboard section of the congregational website.
