Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Migration continues to be a significant concern in countries where this reality is lived with countless dangers and abuses. This same reality is lived by many people who have left Haiti and moved to the Dominican Republic and now live in the “bateyes”, devoid of a decent infrastructure and, many times, in deplorable situations that do not cease to challenge us.
In this context, the Claretian formation community of Pantoja seeks not only to become aware that God has not called us to lock ourselves in our comfort zones, but to discover and recognize Him in the face of the naked, thirsty, sick, hungry, imprisoned and stranger (cf. Mt 25:31ff).
This apostolate of solidarity has been possible thanks to the accompaniment of Fr. José Camilo Minaya, CMF and the financial support of lay missionaries from Caguas, Puerto Rico. The Sanchina Sisters, the Dominican Sisters of St. Paul, have also joined the mission.
