Rome, Italy. The Congregation celebrates its Mission Day on Divine Mercy Sunday. In this regard, the General Procure Office and the General Prefecture of Apostolate disseminated promotional materials to all the Organisms of the Congregation. Due to the current situation around the world, it is understandable that the celebration would be quite different this year. The Organisms may be busy in facing the unusual circumstances of their people in this time of the pandemic. The event, however, could be celebrated at any time of the year, depending on the Organisms discretion.
At the General Curia, the community celebrated the Claretian Mission Day 2020 with a Eucharist presided by Father General, Mathew Vattamattam, CMF. During the homily, four members gave testimonies: Fr. Alix Jean, CMF of Antillas Independent Delegation on the missions in Haiti; Fr. Sabu George, CMF on the Claretian mission in Indonesia – Timor Leste. Fr. Artur Teixeira, CMF, General Prefect of Apostolate, spoke on the many missions our brothers do in the peripheries represented by the posters displayed in the chapel, and then invited Fr. Henry Omonisaye, CMF to share on his unforgettable experience in Sarangani, Philippines.
In solidarity with the rest of the Congregation, the General Curia decided to adopt and support one of the projects submitted to the Mission Procure.
