The Major Superiors of East Nigeria (Simeon Nwobi) and St. Joseph Vaz (JMJ. Jeyaseelan) joined the meeting after their complex and difficult visa procedures.
The Eucharist, at 7:00, is prepared by the General Government and presided over by Gonzalo Fernandez, Vicar General and General Prefect of Spirituality.
The day was basically a day of rest in which:
- in the morning we visited the House-Museum of Pablo Neruda “Isla Negra” (https://fundacionneruda.org/museos/casa-museo-isla-negra/), where the great Chilean poet, Nobel Prize for Literature in 1971, lived a good part of his life, and where his remains rest with those of his wife Matilde Urrutia;
- after lunch and rest, we visited Bodegas Undurraga (https://www.undurraga.cl/tours?___store=es&___from_store=en) getting to know the vineyards and the ins and outs of wine art and culture (we also had a tasty and instructive red and white wine tasting);
- the evening prayer was personal and, after dinner, the film “The Postman” (1994), in which the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda appears, was shown.
God willing, tomorrow the 20th we will resume the work of this meeting and finish it. From January 21 to 25, we will participate in the Congress of Claretian Spirituality (https://congreso.claretianosdelsur.org/) that will take place in Santiago de Chile.
Father Joseba Kamiruaga Mieza CMF
