Canada. The annual meeting of the General Council of the Lay Claretians (SSCC) Movement has been celebrated in the Claret Centre of Montreal, from December 1 to 7. This is the first time it is held in a milieu outside of the Hispanic territory. From among the General Council formed by Constantino Rodríguez (Secretary). Fermín Mena (Treasurer) and Vicente Sanz (General Adviser), only Magda Araujo (Formation Secretary) was not able to participate for reasons of the Visa.
The aim is to revise the functioning of the Movement and to plan the activities for next year. On this occasion the programme that had been made for the four years of the present term was reviewed.
The reception of the missionaries has been excellent. A celebration was held in the church of Guadalupe, chaplaincy of the Latin people, which is taken care of by the Claretians, and the parishes run by the Claretians in Montreal (Notre Dame d’Anjou) and Fleurimont, in Sherbrooke, were visited.
On Saturday 6, in Victoriaville, during the Eucharist, the admission of new members to the Montreal group of the SSCC was held. Besides the Adviser for Canada, P. Percy Díaz, almost all the members of the Claretian Delegation of Canada were also present.
