Perú. On March 25, 2009, at 10 o’clock in the morning, the celebration of the Episcopal consecration of Mons. José Javier Travieso, CMF began. The Eucharist was presided over by the Archbishop of Trujillo, Mons. Miguel Cabreros Vidarte, OFM, with the Apostolic Nuncio in Perú, Mons. Bruno Musaró, and the Claretian Bishop of Copiapó (Chile), Mons. Gaspar Quintana as co-consecrants. Concelebrants were thirty Bishops and a hundred priests, among which there was a numerous representation of missionaries from our Claretian communities of Perú. In the celebration there was also a good participation of relatives and friends of Mons. Javier, come from Spain, as well as lay persons from our Peruvian communities and the faithful of the city of Trujillo, where Mons. Travieso will be Auxiliary Bishop. In the moment of thanksgiving the Provincial of Bética, Fr. Juan José García, in representation of Fr. General, read the letter that the latter sent for the occasion. Let us thank God for this event. We wish Mons. Javier Travieso a fruitful pastoral service, following the footsteps of the holy Archbishop and Founder, St. Anthony Mary Claret.
