Macau. Radio Veritas Asia, the Catholic radio for Asia, second radio in the world in the field of information, has requested the Claretian publishers the permit to retransmit for the whole of Asia (in Chinese and English) the contents of Word and Life 2010 through its radio wave. This means one more recognition for this editorial project which Claretian Publications (the publishing house that serves consecrated life and evangelization), as well as for the author of the commentaries for the year 2010, the Benedictine religious sister, Joan Chittister. Asia Radio Veritas is an initiative of the Federation of Bishops’ Conference of Asia (FABC) which broadcasts in short wave in 17 languages for more than 20 countries of Asia, including Continental China and Vietnam. Its objective is to “bring light and hope to wherever the Christian communities are marginalized or suffer persecution.” The surveys show that 90 % of the listeners of this radio station are not Christian.
John Paul II said that this radio is a “powerful expression of the co-responsibility of the Bishops of Asia in the missionary mandate of the Church,” and he even called it “the voice of Christendom in Asia” (www.masdecerca.com/?p=3536)
