Mexico. Today, February 12, the newly elected Fr. Provincial presided over the Eucharist. He thanked us for the trust that we placed in him by reelecting him for six more years at the helm of the Province. He manifested his appreciation, respect and love for each one of us. Insistently he asked for our support to be able to get our Province ahead and he promised us that he will give his all to obtain it. He thanked each member of his team of the past sexennium, and asked the Immaculate Heart of Mary, St. Anthony Mary Claret and our martyrs for their intercession for the same purpose. He also stated that this Eucharist could be the end of this Chapter, depending on how the remaining tasks develop.
The Chapter President has led the Chapter very efficiently, in a democratic, soft but firm, clear and precise way, with enriching, opportune and dynamic clarifications. God bless you, Fr. Paul. I want to do justice to the singer of our Eucharists who has given them life with guitar and harmonica.
In the morning, Fr. Provincial said that he wants a Government with a prefect of economy and a prefect of Apostolate and Formation and he will take charge of Spirituality; the Chapter members accepted and we proceeded to the election. These were the results: Fr. Juan José Tapia was elected Econome and Fr. Enrique Mascorro, Prefect of Formation and Apostolate. Both accepted and received from the Chapter members an applause and heartfelt congratulations.
The meal served to celebrate the new Provincial Government and to say farewell to Fr. Marcos Guernica who will go to his new assignment in Rome. In the afternoon we continued with the work to finalize the document of provincial commitments.
At 8:00 p.m. this XV Provincial Chapter was closed with the signing of the Minutes.
