Solsona. On June 12, coinciding with the liturgical Feast of the Heart of Mary, the 175th anniversary of the priestly Ordination of St. Anthony Mary Claret was celebrated in the city of Solsona.
A group of about one hundred Claretians from different parts of the world and friends of the congregation gathered in the Bishop’s Palace of Solsona. Convoked by Fr, Maxim Muñoz, CMF and the Claretian Province of Catalonia, they were received by the Bishop of the place, Don Jaume Trassera I Cunillera.
In a hall of the place where our Fr. Founder had been ordained priest (Cfr. Aut 102), the participants had the opportunity to listen to the conference given by Fr. Carlos Sánchez, CMF, entitled “The Missionary Priesthood of Fr. Claret.”
Those present also listened to a message from Fr. General, given by Fr. Mathew Vattamattam, General Prefect of Formation. Then they moved on to the Church of the Heart of Mary for the celebration of the Eucharist to give thanks for this gift to the church and to the world. The Mass was presided over by the Bishop of Solsona.
This celebration also coincided with the closing of the (Year for Priests) to which the Church had been convoked by Pope Benedict XVI.
