Santiago, Chile. The Editorial Claretiana of Argentina and Eccla of Chile have published the book “The Word of God is not Chained”, written by Fr. Agustín Cabré CMF,, Major Superior of the Claretians in Chile.
The book examines the human and spiritual profile of the priest Francés Bernardo Hurault (1924-2004), outlining his contribution to the knowledge, appreciation, and spreading of Sacred Scripture.
Fr. Hurault was well-known during the 1960’s at a time marked by a renewal in the ecclesial environment during the Second Vatican Council and the Conference of CELAM in Medellin, as well as in the Latin American social-political situation.
The enormous work begun by Fr. Bernardo put more than 50 million bibles in ten different languages into the hands of the people. In addition, he edited the popular “Biblia Pastoral Latinoamericana”, a successful publication translated into other languages such as French, English, Tagalo, Ilongo, Chinese, etc.; editions in which the Claretian Missionaries have contributed an important role.
The biography of Fr. Hurault, written by Fr. Agustín Cabré, is not only a tribute to his life, but also his legacy as a beacon of the Word of God.
