Kikwit, Democratic Republic of the Congo. From June 7 -21, Fr. General, Josep. Ma. Abella, in the company of Fr. Emmanuel Edeh, Consultor General, visited the Claretian communities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Delegation of Central Africa).
The visit was an opportunity of give thanks to God for the fruits with which the Claretian missionary charism has been enriching the Church in this country. At the same time important steps were made in the process of the reorganization of the Congregation in this zone of Central Africa.
Taking advantage of the visit, 39 Claretians: 35 priests, 3 brothers, and 1 student had their Assembly in Kikwit/Kikoti from June 18-19. The objective of the Assembly was to surface the priorities of the Delegation in the areas of spirituality, formation, apostolate, and economy; and to come up with concrete steps to raise up the future Independent Delegation of the Congo.
