Rome. On October 23rd at the vespers for the Feast of St. Anthony Mary Claret was a ceremony inaugurating the 2012-2013 school year at the Institute of Religious Life (Claretianum).
During the event homage was paid to Fr. Josep Rovira, CMF, who upon reaching the mandatory retirement age, was recognized as “Professor Emeritus” on behalf of the Lateran University and the Claretianum Institute.
Father General, represented by Fr. José Felix Valderrábano, CMF, Major Superior Delegate of the Claretianum, who was bearer of a letter in which he commented on the 40 years since the foundation of the Institute and of its mission on behalf of religious life. In this letter, Fr. General thanked Fr. Rovira for his years of teaching service in Rome and his availability for the congregational mission in his new assignment as Professor at the ICLA in the Philippines.
The inaugural reading for the 2012-2013 course was made by Prof. Dr. Fabio Ciardi, OMI, who with wisdom spoke of Vatican II as “event” in commemoration of the 50 years since its opening.
Also in attendance were Card. Jose Saraiva Martins, CMF as well as numerous Claretians, religious men and women alumni, and friends.
Intervening in a special way was Fr. Santiago González Silva, “Preside” of the Institute who conducted the event, Fr. George Lanithotam, CMF, Secretary of the Institute, and Fr. Xabier Larrañaga, CMF preofessor and recently designated as Superior of the religious community.
