Rome. From the 5 – 9th of February a workshop was held at the General Curia with recently elected major superiors.
The purpose of the workshop was to offer them various theoretical and practical tools which will contribute to a better functioning of their ministry on behalf of their brothers if the Congregation.
The workshop was coordinated by the Superior General, Fr. Josep Abella, with the collaboration of various members of the Government: Fr. Paul Smyth, Vicar General; Fr. Miguel A. Velasco, Prefect of the Apostolate; Fr. Domingo Grillía, General Econome; Fr. Emmanuel Edeh, General Consultor; and Secretary General, Fr. José Felix Valderrábano.
The Major Superior participants were Fathers: Marcos Aurélio Loro, Provincial of Brazil; Michel Archange Tigui, Delegate from Cameroon; José Santos Torres, Provincial of Colombia East-Ecuador; Joseph Mbungu, Delegate from the Congo; Mario David Gutiérrez, Provincial of San José del Sur; Thomas Vattukulam, Provincial of Saint Thomas (India), and Luis Ángel de las Heras, Provincial of Santiago (Spain).
During the workshop, the Superiors made an in-depth study of Chapters XIII, XIV and XVI of the Constitutions, their role as leaders, various legal and juridical procedures, projection and apostolic priorities, and various topics regarding the economy.
