Cheeral, India. The Blessing of the Extended building of CARE Home Center at Cheeral, Wayanad, Kerala, and the official opening of the new St. Claret Prayer Home Residence of the Claretian Province of St. Thomas took place on 7 February 2019. The opening was done by Fr. Jose Thenpillil cmf, Provincial Superior of St. Thomas and the blessing of the house was done by His Excellency Mar Jose Porunnedom, Bishop of Manathavady Diocese. The blessing was attended by a large number of friends and well-wishers of the center, some Claretians and religious from neighboring areas.
The Mission house is to give home based care to persons living with HIV/AIDS; to give training in tailoring to local people and to start a garment production unit to help the people below poverty line and persons affected by HIV; and give a one day retreat for one family, retreat for sick people and persons affected by HIV/AIDS.
