Rome, Italy. From New Zealand to Argentina, the whole Congregation was in festive and thanksgiving mood for the life of our Father Founder. As the sun rises on the east and crosses the sky towards the west on the 24th of October of 2018, Eucharistic Celebrations were celebrated, several Claretian Missionaries were ordained, some renewed their vows and some perpetually professed in the Congregation, foundation anniversaries of Claretian institutions were remembered, the whole Congregation around the world celebrated in a special way the feast of St. Anthony Mary Claret.
In Rome, the Claretian Family celebrated the day with a solemn Mass at the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Heart of Mary presided by our Superior General, Fr. Mathew Vattamattam, CMF together with the Missionaries of the General Houses, and the Delegation of Italy. Msgr. Ruben Antonio González Medina, CMF, Bishop of Ponce, who is in Rome for the Synod of Bishops was also present in the celebration. Fr. Gonzalo Fernandez, CMF, Vicar General and General Prefect of Spirituality delivered the homily centered on the three important visits of St. Anthony Mary Claret in Rome.
