St. Peter’s Square, Vatican City. Pope Francis canonized seven saints today, 14 October 2018, during the celebration of the Holy Mass for the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time at the people-filled St. Peter’s Square. Two among these seven are close to the Claretians, St. Oscar Romero and St. Paul VI. The rest of the saints that were canonized were Francesco Spinelli, Vincenzo Romano, Maria Caterina Kasper, Nazaria Ignazia di Santa Teresa di Gesù, Nunzio Sulprizio, the youngest of them all. This event occurs within the Synod of Bishops on Young People, the Faith and Vocational Discernment. Among the crowd that extends up to the Via della Conciliazione, were our brothers in the Congregation coming from several Organisms, and one of them is Fr. Vicente Sanz, CMF of the General Mission Procure who was ordained by St. Paul VI during his papacy.
