Panama, Panama. On the weekend of September 1 and 2, 2018, the Youth Ministry of Panama (JUCLA PA) held a vigil, its first ever gathering together, at Claret School Panama in preparation for the WYD 2019 + CF.
It was a beautiful Claretian family experience: priests, sisters, teachers, friends and young people from the different regions of the country with different realities – from the National Shrine of Panama, neighborhoods of Panama City and Panama West, Claret School, Darién and Guna Yala, as well as young people from the Immaculate Conception Parish (a diocesan community whose young people are accompanied by the Claretian sisters). It was the first time that they were seen as a single family with one heart.
In this gathering they shared about the different elements of the Claretian charism and how they can live these from their youth. There were many moments to be acquainted with one another and to share their joys. They prayed and celebrated the Eucharist, as well did a dawn procession with the Mother of Jesus: a Claretian dawn pilgrimage towards WYD.
All the experience helps them to start laying the foundations for a journey together, to be able to start dreaming of the Claretian Youth and Vocation Ministry in shared mission in Panama; and of course that helps them mold the style to what will be the meeting of the Claretian Family in the World Youth Day.
JUCLA in Panama is beginning to deepen its culture and reality. And with this, the young people of this istmeño land could say: “We are the Young Vineyard that burns in charity“.
