Lolotoe, East Timor. A Youth Animator’s Formation was held on the 12th April 2018 at the Parish of Nossa Senhora de Fatima in Lolotoe with a theme “On Politics and Democracy Education”. They have chosen the political situation of the country as its theme because, soon, the citizens of East Timor will exercise their suffrage. Fr. Alex Kedi, CMF, Coordinator of the Youth Ministry of the parish, said: “May it be that through this formation, our youth could have a more responsible democratic and political capacity to respond and choose according to their personal convictions, according to their conscience. May the young people be not provoked by the negative political opinions; may they favor peace, fraternity and the common good of the country. And in the end, they may be examples for other young people, respecting political opinions, maintaining unity in diversity.”
Furthermore, the encounter also dealt with the Youth Pastoral Plan so that the youth will be more active in the activities of the parish. Fr. Alex asked them to be more active and responsible, giving their best for the good of the youth. He also hoped that they may be good companions, walking and animating other youths in all aspects of life, especially in faith, love and hope.
