Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. On December 9, 2023, six Claretian Missionary students took an important step in their vocational journey at the Claret Sanctuary parish in Malabo. Students Diosdado Lorenzo Nguema Abang, Santos Nzie Mbiar, Romualdo Dionisio Asumu Mokuy and Jeconías Isaké Boñao, CMFF, were ordained deacons, and Deacons Pergentino deacons Edjang Motu and Venancio Sapa Mbala, CMFF, were ordained priests.
The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by His Excellency Msgr. Juan Nzué Edjang Maye, Metropolitan Archbishop of Malabo, conferred the sacrament of orders in the presence of Fr. Félix-Obaga Eworo Bilogo, CMF, Major Superior of Padre Xifré Independent Delegation. The ceremony was attended by several diocesan priests, religious, the Claretian family, and the biological families of the newly ordained.
After undergoing several years of training in Cameroon and Nigeria, for some, it marks the end of one phase and the beginning of another.
During the Eucharistic Celebration, the main presider reminded them of the urgency and importance of bearing witness to life in a world dominated by the culture of appearances, the desire for profit, and the accumulation of material goods.
“Proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ, our Lord, must be their priority and their only need.”
We thank God for these Claretian Missionaries at the service of the Church and the Congregation.
