Córdoba, Argentina. On September 8-9, 2023, a pivotal meeting took place between the Executive Council of the Theological Institute of Consecrated Life of America (ITVCA) and its Board of Directors at the Centre for Theological and Philosophical Studies (Cefyt) in Córdoba, Argentina. The Board, comprising various provincials from MICLA and Father Henry Omonisaye CMF, the General Government’s representative for Theological Institutes of Consecrated Life, gathered for this significant occasion.
A Moment of Gratitude
The meeting kicked off with a reflective and appreciative review of the Institute’s journey so far. Throughout its history, ITVCA has remained unwavering in its commitment to Consecrated Life. This dedication has been evident through their involvement in spiritual exercises, consultation in General and Provincial Chapters, and the development of tailored training and growth programs.
Future-Focused Vision
The gathering also served as a forum for recognizing societal indicators and laying out future directions. “We’ve been exploring various avenues to enhance our internal organization,” said one Council member. The meeting also outlined collaborative opportunities with other Institutes of Consecrated Life.
New Goals and Challenges
One of the most noteworthy resolutions was the decision to establish a physical location for the ITVCA. This move paves the way for the Institute to acquire its own independent legal status as an Institute of Consecrated Life sui iuris. “As Claretians in the Americas, we are committed to fostering the emerging Institute with unyielding hope and faithful dedication,” a Board representative concluded.
This meeting and its ensuing decisions are in direct alignment with the guiding vision of the Claretian Congregation. This vision aspires to a community of missionaries prepared to meet new challenges through comprehensive and ongoing training, all while embodying a universal sense of fraternity and a commitment to justice, peace, and the care of our shared home.
