Ekali, Cameroon. In a solemn Eucharist celebration held on August 14, 2023, the Claretian Missionaries in Cameroon witnessed eleven young men from various African nations making their First Religious Profession at the St Joseph Parish, Ekali-Efoulan. The Holy Eucharist was presided over by Fr. Jude Thaddeus Langeh, CMF, the Major Superior of Independent Delegation of Cameroun.
The newly professed missionaries hail from Angola, Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and Nigeria. These dedicated individuals have undergone initial formation within the Congregation for a minimum of five years, preparing themselves to embark on a lifelong commitment to spreading the Gospel and serving the Church.
During the homily, Father Jude emphasized the divine calling that each of these young men has received. Drawing parallels to the biblical story of Samuel, Father Jude highlighted how God calls each individual by name, just as He did with Samuel (1 Samuel 3:1-10). Samuel’s story illustrated the crucial role of mentors and guides, represented by Eli, in helping young believers discern and respond to their call.
Father Jude urged the newly professed missionaries to emulate Samuel’s response, saying, “speak, for your servant is listening.” He encouraged them to wholeheartedly and generously answer God’s call, just as Samuel did when guided by Eli.

Perpetual Profession in the USA-Canada Province
On Tuesday, August 15, 2023, Stu. Norberto Medina Jr., CMF, made his Perpetual Profession at the hands of Fr. Paul Keller, CMF, the Provincial Superior of USA-Canada Province, officiating the ceremony.
The solemn Mass was held at the Claretian Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Chicago, IIIinois. Norbert was joined by his beloved Mother and Brother, along with his Claretian Family, who gathered to bear witness to this significant milestone in his Claretian Missionary Journey.
