Chaclacayo, Perú. On Wednesday, 3rd of August 2022, the III Provincial Chapter of the Claretian Missionaries of Perú-Bolivia Province elected Fr. Ronel Ángel Chipana Peña, CMF, as its new Provincial Superior for the next sexennium.
Fr. Ronel Ángel, 56, was born on 10 March 1966, in Hualhuas, Huancato, Peru to Teodora Peña and Angel Chipana. He entered the Claretian Seminary in Maranga (Peru) as an Aspirant in the then Province of Perú on 15 January 1982, took the Postulancy program from 1 April 1982 to 31 December 1983 in Magdalena del Mar, Lima (Peru), and became a Novice on 11 February 1984, in Rosario (Argentina). He made his first profession on 11 February 1985, in Lima in the hands of Fr. Anisio Lope Campo, CMF, and pronounced his Final Vows on 08 September 1990 in Magdalena del Mar in the hands of Fr. Ángel Núñez Ramírez, CMF. He was ordained a priest on 16 May 1992 by His Excellency, Cardinal Augusto Vargas Alzamora, SJ, Cardinal Priest and Archbishop of Lima. Fr. Ronel took a Graduate course in Theological Disciplines in ISET “Juan XXIII” and Educational Administration and Management at the National University of Trujillo.
He was assigned to the education ministry before he became Consultor of the Provincial Council of Peru in 2004 and the Provincial Econome in 2007. When Perú and Bolivia merged, he became the Mission Procure and was responsible for Solidarity and Mission (SOMI) in 2019 while also serving the parish of St. Michael Archangel in San Miguel. Recently, on February 1, 2022, he was assigned as the Director of Colegio Claretiano in Trujillo (Perú).
