PASSION FOR THE WILL OF GOD
In his personal piety, Claret abundantly used ejaculations and spontaneous expressions of acts of grace, hymns and flowing desires to know and fulfil the will of God. To fulfil the will of God, his Father, in everything was always for Claret a vital necessity and almost an obsession. He repeats this insistently in his propositions, examinations, and resolutions which he left in writing.
In that as in everything else, Claret wanted to faithfully imitate Jesus. He wanted to align himself with the Jesus who took care of the matters of his Father God (cf. Lc 2, 41-49) with the Jesus whose “nourishment” was to comply with the will of his God Abba (cf. Jn4, 31-34) to faithfully comply with that redemptive and salvific love of our human condition.
Therefore, “Claret with you,” upon confiding to you his ardent desire to comply with the will of God, he cannot forget to ask you what importance do you recognize and comply with the will of God in your daily life. In the various crossroads of life, Claret practiced “discernment” that is, he tried to recognize God’s project, reading the bible, praying, asking for advise of others, often waiting a long time for light …
Today he directs this question to you: At any time have you thought what life would be like in our church if all Christians looked for and complied with the will of God the Father as Jesus did? Have you ever thought what, in this case, would improve our world for all humans and forms of life, also for nature, the conservation of which he has confided to us?
Love without selfishness in everyone and among everyone, is and always will be the will of God of Jesus in our lives.
