Ourém, Portugal. The almost one-year old Fátima Province is joyfully celebrating its 1st Provincial Chapter at the Casa de Acolhimento e Espiritualidade (CAE) – Seminário do Coração de Maria, a few meters away from the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima in the municipality of Ourém with the theme: “With Mary, We Are Missionaries”. The 53 Chapter Members coming from the different parts of the United Kingdom, Portugal and parts of southern Spain (juridical territories used to be under the then Bética Province) are joined by Father General, Mathew Vattamattam, CMF, the President of the Chapter. Also, with them is Fr. Gonzalo Fernandez, CMF, Vicar General, to facilitate the proceedings.
The Chapter will run from today, December 27, 2019 until January 3, 2020. On the day of the election of its new Provincial Government, we shall publish another news regarding this important milestone in the life of the Congregation.
