Mühlberg, Germany. The Major Superiors of the Delegation of France and the Provinces of Deutschland, Catalunya, Euskal Herria, Fatima, Polska and Santiago met together for few days from November 21 to 24, 2019 and have enjoyed the exquisite hospitality from the Claretian community of Mühlberg. The Major Superior of Italy, who wasn’t able to attend, joined the meeting taking advantage of communication technology. The Assembly also received a greeting message from Father General.
The Major Superiors met calmly, shared with joy and joined the prayer of the parish community of Mühlberg. Despite the changing map of the Claretian presence in Europe, wherein the existing ten Major Organisms in 2018 will become five at the beginning of 2020, the work of the Conference has intensified and the ties of communion and exchange have been strengthened in recent years. This time, in addition to informing each other of the moment in which each Major Organism is and reviewing the actions that are already carried out jointly, the Major Superiors discussed the possibility of supporting some new project of pastoral service to emigrants as Claretians in Europe. The Conference will discern about it in order to share their findings in the General Chapter of 2021.
ECLA appreciates the support of the General Government for the New Board of Directors elected by the Conference:
President – fr. Callistus Joseph, CMF (Deutschland)
Vice President – Fr. Piotr C. Beza (Polska)
Secretary – Fr. Pedro Belderrain (Santiago)
2020 will be a singularly intense and joyful year for European Claretians, in which the Superior General of the Congregation and the members of his Government will devote special attention to the life and mission of Claretian missionaries on the continent and share many moments with them during the scheduled Canonical Visits to the Organisms of Europe.
